High temperature Teflon tape supplied by Scifluo in China is made from PTFE coated fiberglass fabric or PTFE film coated with pressure sensitive silicone adhesive or acrylic adhesive in thickness of .003” on one side . The tapes with pressure sensitive silicone has a very high operating temperature range of -73°C to +260°C and acrylic adhesive withstand -73°C to +170°C . PTFE adhesive tape can be with corrugated yellow release paper on the back. Standard width of PTFE self adhesive Teflon tape with yellow release paper is 1000mm and 1250mm, this Teflon adhesive tape is used as mould release sheet for composite mould release, cover sheet to cover sizing machine roller, release cover applied to the weld plate for PVC window frames welding and as non-stick cover on the L-bar for heat seal packaging.
Standard width of PTFE adhesive tape without release liner is 600mm, this tape is normally in narrow width for covering of a heat sealer heating press-fit part and electrical insulation. Although the tapes are available in thicknesses of 3 to 10 mil (.003" to .010"), the most popular thickness for heat seal application are 3mil, 5mil and 6 mil. 3 mil tape has the advantage of allowing heat to flow faster from the heat seal band through the tape and into the plastic film or bag to be sealed, enhance to reduce sealing time and improve production rate. Common width include 13mm, 19mm, 25mm, 38mm, 50mm, 300mm, length 10m per roll or 30m per roll. Any other width and length can be customized.
