Standard width of PTFE adhesive tape without release liner is 600mm, this tape is normally in narrow width for covering of a heat sealer heating press-fit part and electrical insulation. Although the tapes are available in thicknesses of 3 to 10 mil (.003" to .010"), the most popular thickness for heat seal application are 3mil, 5mil and 6 mil. 3 mil tape has the advantage of allowing heat to flow faster from the heat seal band through the tape and into the plastic film or bag to be sealed, enhance to reduce sealing time and improve production rate.
