High temperature Teflon tape supplied by Scifluo in China is made from PTFE coated fiberglass fabric or PTFE film coated with pressure sensitive silicone adhesive or acrylic adhesive in thickness of .003” on one side . The tapes with pressure sensitive silicone has a very high operating temperature range of -73°C to +260°C and acrylic adhesive withstand -73°C to +170°C . Since PTFE coated fabric and PTFE film have non stick surface, they will be one side etched before applying adhesive, Scifluo has special etching formula to ensure strong bonding between adhesive and basic fabric or film. High temperature PTFE Teflon adhesive tape includes PTFE tape with silicone adhesive, PTFE tape with acrylic adhesive, PTFE film tape and PTFE zone tape.
PTFE Tape Acrylic Adhesive
PTFE tape with acrylic adhesive has a brown woven glass fabric reinforced and impregnated with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) on both sides, then one side etched and backed with high temperature acrylic adhesive. Acrylic adhesive has better initial adhesion than pressure sensitive silicone adhesive. It works in relatively lower temperature between -40 ~ +170°C, hence the tape is suitable for lower temperature working conditions.
By adding a glass cloth as structure, the tape has high tensile strength, dimensional stability and durability. By coating PTFE resin on the surface, the tape offers non-stick surface, self-lubrication and low friction. By applying acrylic adhesive layer this tape has better initial tack during use.
Product advantages
Stock thickness of PTFE tape with acrylic adhesive from Scifluo are 3mil(0.003”) and 5mi(0.005”), the tape can be supplied with liner or without, release liner on this tape is plain blue PVC liner. Standard width 1000mm(39”), narrow width can be slit accordingly.
Typical applications of PTFE tape with acrylic adhesive is used as a release tape to cover sealing jaws and heat-sealing wires on packaging equipment like bag and L- sealing machine, impulse sealing, vacuum and blister packing.
